This was the best version of this dish I have ever made by far. Seafood was from Price Chopper as the first batch of mussels from Hannaford were rotten, as were every single bag in their seafood department. The seafood manager told me he was busy and it wasn’t his fault.
I would have asked to speak with that manager’s superior, terrible customer service on his part. All in all, I have found PC’s seafood dept to be better than Hannaford’s. How did you cook the mussels?
Evidently it’s okay to sell inedible shellfish, as long as it’s not something popular, like maybe clams. As a mussel-guy, I’m offended on behalf of mussel-nation. We never know what we’ll get. Even in restaurants (and paying full freight), we often get a big bowl of pistachio-sized runts.
Guess we have to always ask hard questions about mussels, and skip them if the person answering doesn’t seem knowledgeable. Sucks.
