The new guy.

Thyme! Picked it up at the Albany Farmers’ Market on Saturday. I don’t do much cooking with thyme. My main purpose in growing this is for making cocktails inspired by the SummerThyme (thyme, something boozy and lemony, honey) from DeJohn’s, the drink many of my friends were nuts for last year.
Hang in there little guy!

So far, so good. Cross your fingers they survive.
We started with our most wanted list: rosemary, mint, and basil. Two pots of basil, actually, since BK uses it frequently for caprese salad and pasta sauce.

The Elusive Herb Garden

As the weather warms one of the increasingly apparent flaws of this apartment is its lack of outdoor space for growing things. No porch, no fire escape, no patio.
